Dr NICHOLAS JOHN MBChB FRCP FRACP
Dr Nicholas John is a Geriatrician (specialist in older people) who trained at the University of Bristol in the UK before qualifying as MBChB in 1988. He trained in General Medicine and Geriatrics in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. He was fortunate to be appointed Clinical Research Fellow at the prestigious Oxford Project To Investigate Memory and Ageing (OPTIMA) where he developed a lifelong interest in memory function, disorders and perioperative assessment of older and general medical patients. After Senior Registrar positions in London and Auckland, he was appointed Consultant in Geriatric Medicine at Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane and took part in several multinational drug trials in different dementia syndromes. A period of time was also spent in Bath UK where he was Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol Medical School. In 2011 Dr John returned to Brisbane and after public positions in The Bayside is now in private practice at his rooms in the Wesley Medical Centre and inpatients in the Wesley Hospital. He is married with three children and lives between Brisbane and the Redlands.
